Every interaction is cross-cultural, and negotiating differences can be challenging!  As a result of this course, learners will be able to:

  • Define concepts of culture, diversity, cultural effectiveness, cultural humility, and equity
  • Describe the concept of intersectionality and how it applies to the oppression of disadvantaged groups
  • Describe a way to manage micro-aggressions when either received or inflicted
  • Describe ways in which discrimination, implicit bias, isms, and micro-aggressions may negatively impact treatment

This highly interactive course requires completion of a diversity inventory and Harvard Implicit Bias test prior to the class.  Instructions will be sent to registrants around accessing these activities.  This event requires a working camera and microphone to participate in the training.
